Our Story
The Canadian Reformed Church of Elora was founded on September 6th, 1987, to serve the growing Fergus-Elora community, complementing the Fergus Maranatha Canadian Reformed Church. What began with only 15 members has grown into a thriving congregation of over 200 members today.
Initially, the church met at Salem Public School until a building and manse were constructed just outside Salem, which took place in 1991. A renovation was completed in 2011 to accommodate the expanding membership.
The Elora church has always aimed to be a positive presence in the community, warmly welcoming visitors who wish to attend. They strive to be a beacon of light in the community and continually seek ways to assist those in need.
What is a "Reformed" Church?
Reformed Christianity traces its origins to the 16th Century Reformation, a time when the Church was renewed by returning to the Bible as the ultimate authority in all areas of life. We strive to embrace ongoing reformation, continually looking to God’s Word for guidance and direction in our lives.
What is a “Canadian Reformed” Church?
We are a federation of churches, primarily located in Canada, with some congregations in the United States.
